Food and Drug Administration (FDA)

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is part of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.  It is responsible for protecting the public by assuring the safety and efficacy of all drugs, medical devices, food, cosmetics and radioactive products.  The FDA helps the public obtain accurate information on the use of medicines and foods to maintain and improve health.
