ASRM COVID-19 Task Force Update #15

We remain steadfast in our guidance that to promote safety and protect health, patients and staff should get fully vaccinated, wear masks, and be tested for COVID when necessary. Widespread vaccination will, over time, reduce the need for wearing masks and social distancing.

  • COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for women who are contemplating pregnancy or who are pregnant to minimize risks to themselves and their pregnancy.
  • Physicians continue to play a crucial role in encouraging vaccination among their staff and their patients.
  • We support the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) strong recommendation that everyone present in a healthcare setting wear a mask.
  • Where permissible, we support partners attending reproductive health appointments as long as they are wearing a mask and are asymptomatic.  State, local, institution, and clinic rules and guidelines supersede this guidance.
