ASRM Certificate Course for Mental Health Professionals

ASRM is pleased to announce the release of the Mental Health Professional Certificate Course Part 3. This airLearning course addresses third party reproduction, special populations, genetics, and is made up of the following eleven modules:

  1. Mental Health Counseling for Oocyte Donors and Recipients
  2. Sperm Donation in Assisted Conception
  3. Embryo Disposition and Embryo Donation
  4. The Role of the Mental Health Professional in Gestational Carrier Arrangements
  5. Disclosure in Donor-assisted Conception
  6. Adoption and Fertility Challenges
  7. Later-life Parenthood and Childfree Living
  8. Counseling Single Women and Single Men Choosing Parenthood
  9. Counseling Transgender Patients
  10. Counseling Same-Sex Couples
  11. Genetics in Reproductive Medicine
The Certificate Course will be available to all members of the ASRM Mental Health Professional Group and ASRM after successful completion of Mental Health Certificate Courses I and II. This Certificate Course will offer 7.0 CE credits accredited by the APA and 7.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. The modules must be completed in the order they are presented with ten test questions for each module. Completion will require a 70% passing score. Completion of the MHPG Certificate Course or any of its components does not provide credentials to practice as a mental health professional in the assisted reproductive technology setting.

Once the Certificate Course for Mental Health Professionals is published, it will be reviewed, updated, and revised every three years.
